TeamForge 3 and 4 on your own PC.

Before you start

​

Please make sure Valheim is closed before copying any files.

You will need the TeamForge download links for:

TeamForge File 3/4

​

These will usually download as .zip files. A zip file is like a folder that has been packed up so it can be downloaded more easily.

​

Step 1: Download the TeamForge zip files

Click the download link for TeamForge File 3/4.

When asked where to save it, choose Downloads.

Save this in Downloads.

When your file has finished downloading, open your Downloads folder. You should see your TeamForge zip file there.

Step 2: Unzip the files

Right-click the TeamForge File zip file.

Choose Extract All…

A box will appear. Click Extract.

Windows will create a normal folder with the same name.

Step 3: Open the correct Valheim folder

The Valheim world save folder on Windows is usually:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local

The easiest way to open it is:

Press the Windows key and R at the same time.

A small box called Run will appear.

Copy and paste this into the box:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local

​

Click OK.

This should open the correct Valheim folder. Valheim world files are commonly stored in the worlds_local folder and usually include files ending in .db and .fwl.

Step 4: Copy the TeamForge files into the Valheim folder

Open the unzipped TeamForge File folder.

Look inside for Valheim files. These may end in:

.db .fwl

Copy those files into the open worlds_local folder.

​

Do not copy the zip file itself. Copy the files from inside the unzipped folder.

​

Step 5: Start Valheim and check

Open Valheim.

Go to the screen where you choose or manage worlds.

Check that the TeamForge world appears.

If it appears, the files have been placed correctly.

Start to play your new world!

Troubleshooting

​

If the folder does not open

If Windows says it cannot find the folder, try starting Valheim once first, then close it and try again. This can help create the Valheim folder.

If you are trying to find the folder manually, please note that AppData is often hidden by default on Windows. (help.dathost.net)

To find it manually:

Open File Explorer.

Click This PC.

Open Local Disk (C:).

Open Users.

Open the folder with your Windows username.

If you cannot see AppData, click View at the top of File Explorer, then choose Show, then turn on Hidden items.

Then open:

AppData > LocalLow > IronGate > Valheim > worlds_local

If the world still does not show in Valheim

Check that the files are inside worlds_local, not inside another folder within it.

For example, this is correct:

worlds_local > TeamForge.db worlds_local > TeamForge.fwl

This may not work:

worlds_local > TeamForge Folder > TeamForge.db worlds_local > TeamForge Folder > TeamForge.fwl

If the files are inside an extra folder, move them directly into worlds_local.

Need help

If you get stuck, take a screenshot of the folder you are looking at and contact Quest Mentoring support. Please do not delete any Valheim files unless a Quest mentor or support person asks you to.
