Our Approach

We build trust first, then use games to develop real-world skills, all tailored to each young person’s needs.

 Relationship First

  • Everything starts with trust. We know that real growth happens when a young person feels safe, understood, and respected.

  • Our mentors are trained to build meaningful relationships, using shared play, consistent presence, and low-pressure conversations to create a foundation of emotional safety. Whether it’s a one-to-one session or group environment, this relationship becomes the launching point for skill development and social confidence.

Games With Purpose

  • Games are at the heart of our approach, not just because they’re fun, but because they create the perfect environment for learning and connection.

  • We use:

  • Video Games to build teamwork, creativity, and resilience

  • Online Board Games  to support communication and problem-solving

  • Online Roleplay to foster imagination, empathy, and leadership

  • Mentoring sessions blend play with reflection, helping young people make links between what happens in the game and the skills they can apply in everyday life.

Skills That Stick

  • Our sessions are grounded in the Skills Builder Framework, an internationally recognised tool that breaks essential skills into clear, teachable steps.

  • Whether a young person needs support with communication, planning, or staying positive, our mentors use this framework to:

  • Set meaningful goals

  • Track progress through benchmarking

  • Adapt sessions to build relevant real-world skills

  • We also support areas like social and emotional development and work readiness, based on each young person’s situation and goals.

Flexible to Fit

  • Support is never one-size-fits-all. We offer:

  • One-to-one mentoring for personalised, focused support

  • Small group sessions for social learning in safe, guided environments

  • Online community mentoring through a moderated Discord server for ongoing connection and positive peer engagement

  • Each format is flexible, inclusive, and designed to meet young people where they feel most comfortable.

Outcome-Focused, Human-Led

  • Whether you’re a parent, school, or council, our approach is built to show impact. We combine clear measurement tools (like Skills Builder) with real stories of growth and connection.

  • But we never lose sight of what matters most: helping young people feel more confident, more connected, and more hopeful about the future.

“The game is really good and we are doing well with the team work. In order to advance my skills I need to face challenges and TeamForge has plenty of challenges."
