Meet the Co-Founder: Alexander Brown
Alexander Brown is a strategist, designer, and problem-solver with a passion for creating immersive and inclusive learning experiences that develop real-world skills. With a background in business operations, event management, and interactive storytelling, Alex brings a unique perspective to game-based mentorship, blending narrative, accessibility, and skill development.
Professional Background
Alex’s expertise lies in operations, project development, and systems design. Having built and managed large-scale events, including live action roleplay (LARP) experiences for over 100 participants, Alex has a deep understanding of team dynamics, problem-solving, and logistical planning.
Beyond event management, Alex has worked across business operations, artificial intelligence consultation, gamification, and educational system development, focusing on how structured play can be used to teach leadership, communication, and adaptability. At Quest Mentoring, Alex applies this expertise to creating accessible and engaging programmes that help young people build confidence and practical skills.

Personal Experience & Accessibility Advocacy
Alex’s understanding of accessibility is shaped by firsthand experience. Growing up with an autistic, deaf, and blind brother, Alex witnessed the importance of structured support and adaptability.
Previously, Alex worked as a primary lead carer for children with Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare genetic disorder affecting neurological development. This experience gave Alex insight into personalised care, accessibility needs, and creating structured environments, foundations that continue to influence his approach to inclusive learning today.
As someone with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and auditory processing disorder, Alex has navigated challenges in traditional education and developed personal strategies to overcome them. Learning to adapt with tools and structured support, Alex now helps others find their own ways to learn and develop essential skills.

Vision and Mission
Alex sees games as a powerful tool for skill-building. Through Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), LARP, and interactive storytelling, Alex has designed and led team-based experiences that teach leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making under pressure.
By incorporating roleplay and structured game mechanics, Alex helps learners develop skills they may struggle with in traditional settings. Quest Mentoring is built on this philosophy, using gaming as an accessible way to empower young people.

Personal Approach
Alex’s approach to mentoring and education is shaped by real-world experience. Whether leading a narrative-driven LARP, running a D&D session, or designing a gamified training system, his focus is on engagement, adaptability, and learning through play.
By blending storytelling, roleplay, and real-world challenges, Alex creates experiences that allow participants to learn by doing, making education immersive and practical.

Commitment to Safety and Quality
Alex is committed to creating safe and supportive learning environments. Years of event management, accessibility-focused planning, and firsthand experience with diverse learning needs inform an approach that ensures programmes are inclusive and effective for all participants.
Outside of Work
When not working on innovative learning experiences, Alex enjoys attending LARP events, running tabletop roleplaying games, and playing video games. Alex loves exploring strategy, storytelling, and team dynamics across different gaming formats.
